About Us

Nature's Own is a landscape design and construction company, that has been primarily serving the Niagara Region since 2001. Nature's Own is owned and operated by Steven Van Lochem NPD, with the assistance of his brother Ryan who is also the site supervisor.

The landscape design portion of the business is overseen by Darren Schmahl. Darren & Steven are both graduates of the Niagara Parks School of Horticulture. Prior to studying at NPC, Steven attended and graduated Ridgetown College. Ryan has worked in the industry for over 8 years and has worked in all aspects of the landscape construction trade.

Recent Work

This is a project that we are going to wrap up in the spring! We have all the pavers, curbing, retaining walls, etc installed already. All we have to complete yet is the Sythetic Turf, Plantings and Landscape Lighting. We used two stone manufacturers to complete this front yard. The pavers on the driveway are called Antica which are manufactured by Techo-Bloc and the Curbing and Flagstone are manufactured be Stone-Link. Look us up in the spring for an updated picture!
