Nature's Own is a landscape design and construction company, that has been primarily serving the Niagara Region since 2001. Nature's Own is owned and operated by Steven Van Lochem NPD, with the assistance of his brother Ryan who is also the site supervisor.

The landscape design portion of the business is overseen by Darren Schmahl. Darren & Steven are both graduates of the Niagara Parks School of Horticulture. Prior to studying at NPC, Steven attended and graduated Ridgetown College. Ryan has worked in the industry for over 7 years and has worked in all aspects of the landscape construction trade.

Recent Work

At this Cottage Style house we installed a White Garden with a rustic Flagstone Walkway and Patio in the backyard. We also installed a traditional white picket fence that had a Hicks Yew Hedge around the inside perimeter. In this shady backyard garden we incorporated a Woodland theme, with lots of Ferns, Hosta's, Trilliums, Solomons Seal and of course Rhododendron's. In the front yard which was more sunny we included some textured plant material like Boxwoods and Yews, that would contrast nicely with our Magnolia, Peonies & Viburnums and other white sun loving perennials.
