Walkway with Accent

  The first picture is an example of how a Brussels Block walkway looks with just a regular soldiers course along the outside edges.  This is typical of most paver patios or walkways. 
  Sometimes it is nice to dress up the soldiers course by using a different colour stone or a completely different type of stone.  In some cases you do this to tie in with a colour on the house or sometimes its just nice to accent the patio or walkway!http://beta.naturesownidea.com/files/walkway200.jpg

  At this Cottage Style house we installed a White Garden with a rustic Flagstone Walkway and Patio in the backyard.  We also installed a traditional white picket fence that had a Hicks Yew Hedge around the inside perimeter.  In this shady backyard garden we incorporated a Woodland theme, with lots of Ferns, Hosta's, Trilliums, Solomons Seal and of course Rhododendron's.  In the front yard which was more sunny we included some textured plant material like Boxwoods and Yews, that would contrast nicely with our Magnolia, Peonies & Viburnums and other white sun loving perennials.
